So for Christmas I got lots of good stuff, like cash, Wii video games, a Chris Cooley jersey, books, gift cards, etc. One of the most unique gifts I got however was an opportunity to go shooting guns with Tyler. After 29 years of life this is the first time I've ever fired a gun, and I got to fire not one, but three different guns.
We went out to some land in Salem that Tyler's friend owns and shot. I loaded all the guns and Tyler gave me a brief lesson on each concerning loading, safeties, etc. I can now say that I have shot a .357 Magnum (using 38 special rounds and 357 magnum rounds), a lever action 30/30 rifle, and a bolt action shotgun (using 20 gauge shells). Shooting is a rush. I learned that bullets cost more than I thought they would, you need to point a little lower than what you want to shoot, that a .357 has a lot of kick and that shooting in general is harder than it looks to hit targets. You have to get used to the kickback. It was cool, and I look forward to shooting again.
